The project consisted of internally subdividing a large open industrial building into separate production areas to suit the Client’s new production process. Essentially this split the space into 3 main zones being:

Clean Rooms 1&2 – The free standing walls were traditional metal stud partitions faced with plasterboard, existing walls were dry lined, the internal walls of each room were then faced with altro whiterock hygienic lining system, the new suspended ceiling was a bespoke Armstrong system which was virtually air tight as the Client required these areas to be under a positive pressure to prevent ingress of dust & foreign bodies. We designed the ceiling to accommodate special sealed light fittings and power drop boxes. Airlocks were constructed to each room & doors fitted with seals to maintain the air pressure.

Plant Room – Construct full height metal stud partitions to form a plant room enclosure, this area was built after the freestanding plant was installed to ensure adequacy of working space for maintenance purposes around the kit and at the time of tender the equipment supplier had not been established.

Trim Shop / Router - Construct full height metal stud partitions to form two separate works areas split by a soundproof partition, 10no viewing windows were installed in the Trim Shop side and a small supervisor’s office constructed internally.
